Smashbox Photo Finish Lipstick

Smashbox Photo Finish Lipstick $22

As I’ve mentioned in this previous post I am a lip gloss girl.  I’ve slowly transitioned to the shiny, sticky liquid-in-a tube over the last few years.  I’ll switch up my routine at times though and go back to lipsticks when I need my color to last longer than an hour without re-applying.  My biggest pet peeve when it comes to lipsticks is that they make my lips dry and flaky… definitely not a look I want to be sporting.

My latest and greatest find though has me rethinking lipsticks.  I picked up the Smashbox Photo Finish lipstick during my last visit to the mecca of makeup… aka… Sephora.  I was eying another lip gloss (of course) when the Smashbox makeup artist recommended I give this lipstick a shot… and I have to say I love it.  The lipstick feels very smooth on my lips and makes my pout feel silky and moisturized.  Best part is… the color is long lasting and I don’t have to re-apply after an hour.  The lipstick comes in two formulas… cream and sheer.  If you pick the cream lipstick and you like the shine that you get with a lip gloss I would recommend to add a dab of gloss at the center of your lips because the lipstick itself is not very shiny, even though it’s advertised that way.  The collection has a wide variety of colors but my favorites are Splendid and Beautiful… both are warm peachy colors that can be worn day and night.

About Pink Layers

Welcome to Pink Layers. I'm very excited to share with you guys my thoughts and ideas on beauty and fashion. My love affair with makeup, clothes and accessories started at a very young age and has only grown with time; unfortunately my bank account has shrunk because of it. Hopefully my blog will help and guide you into making wise purchasing decisions. After all, as Coco Chanel once said, "A girl should be two things... classy and fabulous."
